Cyprus reaches 3rd EU rank for the vaccination campaign

Today, Cyprus succeeded to reach 65% of population who got their first dose of vaccination since the launch. The island is the third rank of EU country according to the source collected by the world in Data.

The Health Minister said

The protection of the population through vaccinations continues at a rapid pace, building the wall of immunity. The positive response of citizens to vaccination allows for the gradual implementation of the strategy for the resumption of social activity, restarting the economy and lifting restrictive measures. Our country is getting closer to achieving the goal of vaccination, at least with the first dose, of 65% of the adult population by the end of June. It is characteristic that among the countries of the European Union, Cyprus remains in the first places in terms of vaccine doses (65,35 doses per 100 inhabitants), as a result of the cooperation and responsibility shown by the vast majority of citizens in the efforts to deal with the pandemic.

Cyprus represents 1,215,312 citizens according to the latest figures made this Saturday, May 29, 2021 by Worldometer, United Nations data. The median age in this country is 37.3 years that is confirmed that is a young population.

Two days ago, people who are 36–39 years old received their the 1st dose. They represent 51% of the population. Yesterday, EU Medecine Agency approved the vaccination for children aged 12 to 15 in EU, each EU country will study this decision to allow or not according to their population.
