EDP Redes Spain has been rewarded for the ‘Active Networks Management’ project as best contribution to ‘System Operation’.
EDP Redes España was created in December 2020 that belongs to EDP group.
According to the “first Sustainability Report, the company was born after the acquisition of the Viesgo Group, the shareholding of which is shared by the EDP Group, which holds 75.1%, and the investment fund Macquarie, holding 24.9%.
EDP Redes España brings together the electricity distribution activity carried out by the people and the installations of the companies comprising it: E-Redes,Viesgo Distribución and Begasa, also supported by the entire corporate structure of EDP España.”

Ronnie Belmans, Professor Emeritus at the KU Leuven, Advisor to the board of EnergyVille and Advisor at the Florence school of regulation,
Nikos Hatziargyriou, Professor in Power Systems at the Athens National Technical University.
This high recognition pointed out the eminent contribution made to the progress of network technologies in electricity distribution and acknowledge.
The second award ‘Knowledge Sharing Merit’ gave to Gridspertise, headed by Robert Denda as both Sole CEO-administrator and Head of Innovation & Industrialization at Enel Global Infrastructure & Networks, as a recognition of how remarkably the new venture is fostering the digitalization of advanced metering, networks and field operations.
